Your family is pretty much a community in itself you invest in your children so they can do better when your a single parent it makes it harder to invest in your children because your in survival mode and the government ends up looking after your children. When you have a large group of people who are all in the same circumstance it's crippling to think of building outside of that. Once you have a change in the family dynamic and your community is strong amongst your family members then you can focus on building communities outside of that. Asians and Middle eastern people understand that concept very well which is why it's not stopping the from owning a lot of shyt in the western world.

Not too long ago father's were not home much if at all. They had wars to fight and infrastructure to build in other countries. Might be home once or twice a year.

Even more recent, father's worked in different states from their residence. Again not being home much. On such jobs as the railroad, etc.

Men have traditionally been absent from the daily lives of their children. Even today, many CEOs, entertainers, athletes, are constantly gone.

What they do, is support their family financially and pass their wealth down.
