Silver is throwing shyt against the wall but the truth is the ASG is not going to improve until the old head generation ages out . The Bron,Steph,KD generation the ones that got us to this point.. they set the tone. Nothing you can do to make them play. They were coddled and had their bullshyt justified for far too long to put your foot on em now …..like look at the shyt Bron pulled . These nikkas not close to being the best players in the game today but still run it like they in their primes .

Your only shot is the young players… the NBA needs a changing of the guard in the worst way

i think they would have if there was a bonafied superstar celebrity type player alongside a set of supporting cast stars...

the nba may not even be capable of producing such a figure today.... the relationship they have with media and society is dramatically different in 2025 than 1995

The nfl doesn't even have a real all-star game...who really gives a fukk :mjlol: The success of the league isn't hinged on a got damn exhibition game either way and that's the reality to fans need to grasp
:childplease:

The all star game failures is a microcosm of a larger probelm with the nba product. Past all star weekends are part of NBA lore. NBA all star weekend has alwyas meant more to the league than the pro bowl did to the nfl. Jordan vs Kobe in the 2003 east vs west game. Vince Carter slam dunk contest. Etc.

look I been an nba fan my whole life, I have league pass been watching since early 90s

watching this "all star game championship game" this shyt is beyond awful now. Even pressed to play they dont, theres no respect for the fans. Its insane to see how pissed wemby was at the end realizing hes the only one trying and giving a shyt, its awful cuz its mostly american aau culture thats ruined this shyt

idk where they go from here, Im always the guy defending the nba saying ratings dont matter cuz nba has most social media followers and its a global game

but this shyt is BAD the wemby reaction and the end said it ALL holy shyt where have we gone? theres nothing they can do to make them compete. this is where we are at ?:hhh: :camby::deadrose:

This shyt started in the 80s.

Read the book "Raw Recruits" from Armen Keteyian. It goes over the process of how kids were being recruited even in middle school with free sneakers, clothes, jobs/cribs for their parents etc. All this, just to play on the right AAU or travel squad...then eventually getting funneled to the right high school...AND THEN to the right college coaches.

The effects weren't apparent right away, but we see it now. The yung bulls ain't tryna hear shyt if you're not talking cash. They don't want to be walking with a bad back and limp at age 50. Everything is a commodity to be bought/sold, including their desire to win.

These are no longer entertainers and show-men. They are businesses and brands that look to maximize earnings with limited risk. I don't blame them. They're being capitalists just like the governors they work for.

Unlike football, you basically HAVE to be 6'2"+ to have a realistic shot of even making the league. 95% of the world is ruled out from Day 1 unless they have freakish skills/athletic ability (Iverson, Zeke etc). It's damn near a cartel in that sense. I can always find another 5'10" quick/strong running back. Finding a 6'7" breh with a consistent jumper, decent hoops IQ and good defense is a LOT harder (mainly because of the height, not the innate skill).

But the NFL doesnt pretend they have a real all star game.

If the NBA wants that, they've got it. But they should change the messaging around it.

That shyt last night was unwatchable. I preferred the old format where they didn't try.

The refs not calling fouls made the whole thing a farce.

nikkas talking about some fukking “lore” for a literal meaningless exhibition game :mjlol:

Completly delusional.….no major sport fanbase gives 2 fukks about their leagues all-star game.….if the most popular sport in America has their players running around playing flag football and their product is still intact that gives you more than enough of a blueprint to the general value these games have….its meant to be a break for the players in a long extended season...thats it.…any other stakes that you're adding on to it is forced and manufactured. Fans need a reality check.

Neither does the NBA, they just had Kevin Hart doing mid game skits :mjlol:like what do you mean?

still doing all star games in 2025. All of them suck no matter the sport and the tv ratings have showed nobody cares to watch them. The pro bowls ratings have been under 10 every year since 2014. Same for MLB and their all star game.
