it happens during a literal week long mid season break ….nikkas ain't locked in on nothing but Cancun :mjlol:

Like I was saying, these dudes don't care and it's painfully obvious. If someone was playing at full speed we'd easily spot the people playing at half speed but they're all playing at half speed and half assing it because they aren't competitive and it's not just the ASG. It's borderline in game load management.

The nfl doesn't even have a real all-star game...who really gives a fukk :mjlol: The success of the league isn't hinged on a got damn exhibition game either way and that's the reality to fans need to grasp

Yeah I think it's just that All Star Game culture is out of style. All of the big 4 leagues all star games fell off. The NHL has the best one now, but only because of a format change. It's now an international thing and that brings out pride and effort. Anything else, and today's athletes don't give a fukk.

But in the mid 90s and before, all-star games were intense

You guys keep comparing the NFL pro bowl to the NBA All Star game like it's not apples and oranges.

Pro bowl happens AFTER watching the two best teams in the league battle for the championship. Football is a brutal sport and the only way you could fit an all Star game in is after the Superbowl/season as most pro bowlers are in the playoffs. The pro bowl was a fun watch but moving it out of Hawaii and CTE turning it into flag football pretty much killed it. They'd be better off just having skills challenges at this point.

The NBA All Star game happens MID SEASON when everyone is supposed to in mid season mode and locked in. It's not carrying over to the All Star game because these players don't care because they aren't hungry and aren't competitive. Dude who said its a microcosm of the NBA in general is 100% right. The NBA sells stars and the matchups they make. They haven't really been living up to the hype because these guys are all rich and friends. It doesn't work. The week before the all Star break the NBA will try to sell you a match up between two all stars going head to head and those same two guys will play turnstile defense on each other in the ASG. These guys don't care. You'll hear a bunch of guys talk about mamba mentality, channeling Kobe, being the ultimate competitor and then go to ASG and play at half speed. They do go hard during the season so why would they for exhibition? Nothing short of giving rings to the winning team will change that.

The Pro Bowl had been moved to before the Super Bowl since the 2009 Season (GREATEST SEASON EVER :blessed:).

Yeah because Superbowl winners and losers weren't showing up but I meant Hawaii and full pads era pro bowl when I talk about the pro bowl. Not this flag football waste of time.

Nothing the NBA does will fix the relationship with their current fan base. The NBA loudest fans just likes to argue about shyt and they're exhausting. Anything the NBA would put up will be shyt on. This current allstar game happened because they were trying to appease impossible fans. Next time they should just do what they think is entertaining, and just expect their loud ass minority fans to complain, and FRY any dissent with their network partners or players to keep from amplifying the loud minority like they have been catering to this past decade. Having TNT put Draymond up as the "next Barkley" is part of their problem. Why would anyone want to watch a product that a current player calls boring?
