When you pass a bill like this it makes those who want to do this feel justified and validated. Obviously these men wanted to do that, but you don't think having government backing their want has any effect on their behavior?

attacks on women in uganda happened before the bill was introduced as well, so explain that?

Let me understand your thought process.

You're saying that because right now people steal even though its illegal, that if the government decided to pass a bill declaring stealing from stores legal, that would have no effect on the behavior and amount of people who choose to steal?

No the bill doesn't validate or justify a behavior, people will do what they want to do. If you make it illegal, more people will do more to break that law. Laws don't necessary mean they are morally right. shyt look at the laws in the U.S. more than 75% of them are morally illegal.

I never once said anything about what is or is not morally correct, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

You said that because men were molesting women before, it didn't matter that there was now a law that said it was okay to do so. I'm telling you that that's nonsense, and used the example of stealing. I can tell you right now that people who won't even think about going into a store and stealing right now would steal their asses off it wasn't illegal and punishable.

A person having a "distaste" for a certain type of behavior does not mean they dislike it enough to exhibit it in the face of real consequences such as jail time. That's what laws help to prevent.

I said the law doesn't change the fact that women were attacked before it existed. So when the law was in place, women are still attacked( in 2 incidents). What has changed. The stealing issue is much different and requires you to look at poverty as a whole. Even if stealing was legal, what has changed?

No one ever said that the law changed the past. What are you talking about? The fact of the matter is this law now makes that behavior permissible and unpunishable. You're pretending this law will have no effect on behavior going forward and anyone who is being honest and without and agenda knows thats nonsensical.

I think your problem is with people and not the law.

I guess having no laws is better, then, since "people will do what they want to do" even if they exist and fewer people will do those things if they're all legal? :shaq2:
