I still read that book to my kids. Got it for my oldest when she turned 4. Illustrations are off the chain. Movie hopefully is good.

Hopefully you can find the original ones. They came out with a re rerelease in 2011 with a different illustrator because they say the o.g was too scary.
Just found original 3 book boxset with the Gammell art for $13.97.

Yeah I found the originals but also the rerelease which has those redone illustrations. Originals take me back to elementary school.
Scariest Stories you've ever heard was also a good series.
