If he's indeed the "world's greatest detective" then he would be capable by merely looking at the child that it's indeed HIS kid. It's not like he haven't taken in troubled kids in the past.

I said NOTHING about the movie itself. I dunno why you bring up plotholes or characterization for the film specifically. I only pointed out there it's not THAT difficult for Batman to deduce that's his son because, 1) it already stated Damien was a spitting image of him at that age, and 2) Batman, if he IS the greatest detective could deduce whether or not that's his son just by looking at him.

That's speaks NOTHING about whether the film was good or not, there's PLENTY of things that can be discussed about this film that doesn't make a lot of sense of just purely out of character, but arguable how Batman believes if that's his son or not is not one of them.
