on continent full strong healthy black men a cac pull the finest sista in sight :mjlol:

The story is crazy. White men are invading your country and you start kissing one who looks like Timothy Chamalet?? He'll probably drop dead of Yellow Fever or Malaria within the year. West Africa was called the "White Man's Grave" for a reason!

:mjlol: :deadrose:

Posters in the film room clearly have no idea what this tribe was all about. They're thinking this movie is going to be some real black power shyt. :russ:
This is the result of nikkas looking to the world to teach them who they are vs it happening in their homes. Thus we treat dumb ass hollywood flicks as the ancestors speaking to us.

Look at how they respond when you tell em black panther was some mid

The Dahomey women had to become soldiers because the population of Dahomey men was destroyed due to constant invasions from enemy nations.

So many Dahomey men ended up enslaved - the women had no choice but to step on the battlefield to replenish the numbers.

The Dahomey kingdom is a story of an oppressed group seeking revenge against their enemies, and I dont blame them for anything they did.

I would have done the same thing..... you enslave my people and I'm coming to kill your whole family..... dont start crying when the victim becomes the predator.

Definitely gonna take a big turn out from the black audience for this to be success. Cacs won't bother in the slightest with this more than likely.

Edit

There's really some kind of cac savior love story in this? Really...

And it's written and directed by white women? Jeez...

Leave it to Hollywood to violate an authentic story with their artistic licence nonsense.

Viola Davis is an Oscar winning actress who has appeared in a top rated tv series.

Studio is banking on this film getting some of the Wonder Woman audience and box office domestically and internationally.
Woman power/girl power and all that. Obvious even from the chosen title. They are banking on women, of different races coming out in droves on opening weekend. Not necessarily Black audiences.

I'm sure the success of that WW film had something to do with this being given the greenlight. I was a bit pumpfaked by the trailer. Most films over a certain budget are made for general audience in mind. I knew that there would be a sympathetic white character in there, for the white audience to identify with. I get that part. Just didn't expect them to be so heavy handed with it.

What was Queen Nzinga famous for?

One of the great women rulers of Africa, Queen Anna Nzinga (circa 1581-1663) of Angola fought against the slave trade and European influence in the seventeenth century. Known for being an astute diplomat and visionary military leader, she resisted Portuguese invasion and slave raids for 30 years.

One-eyed African Queen

Amanirenas: The Nubian queen who conquered the Romans. 00:00. The battles between Kush and Rome continued. During one of them, Queen Amanirenas was blinded in one eye by a Roman soldier. After her wound healed, she went back to leading her army in several more fights against the Romans.
