It's $3.75 mil left, the last year is a team option. He really only has a year left. They've done this before with Sam Mitchell (who had 2 guaranteed years left). They'll do it again if they need to. Randy Carlyle was fired by the Leafs and he had multiple years left on his contract.

He still brought it on the offensive end though. JV can't even make a simplepost move, something that he should have mastered. JV isn't a monster on the boards either, he still soft. Teams know that and bully him.
