I'd agree with this mostly. I obviously think Jonas is better than you do, but this is pretty much on point. There is way more to it then his FG % which is a skewered number based on the fact he beasts against shytty teams with no size but he struggles mightily against competent big men and competent defenses...I would say its game to game, not a general rule we should be force feeding him.
Tonight i like him going against Monroe or Drummond in the post as one is shytty defender and the other is dumbass who still falls for Vals horrible pumpfakes...Id let him eat early on until SVG makes an adjustment as long as hes scoring...
Ive said before Jonas should never be the focal point of any offense but this team becomes easy to defend when we just allow our guards to free lance and iso....We'd open up space if we got the ball to him in the block and force the defense to defend us differently...
To me its just about using Jonas as a facilitator more and creating different offensive looks that dont make us so predictable...Jonas doesnt need to be the #1 scoring option for us to do that....
Just to clarify though, I wasn't saying he's a true #1 option like a Shaq or something, his passing isn't there yet , he's still kinda mechanical with post moves and doesn't have the killer instinct all the time. But he's too good to be ignored for long stretches like he is, and like you said it stagnates the offence and leads to repeated trips ending with ugly fadeaways and bad 3s.
Its not just post ups either IMO, I think he's massively underused in PnR, that was always his bread and butter and he's not used as the dive man in PnR anywhere near as much as he should be.
