bargs is playing 26 minutes a game and is averaging 15 points and 5 boards shooting 46%

ill take that over anyone on the raptors bench
I wouldn't. They already have enough problems rebounding and defensively, adding an inefficient chucker who also happens to be the worst rebounding 7 footer in the history of the NBA wouldn't help.

Like I've said before, if DeRozan keeps doing this he's going to play his way out of Toronto. The example given here isn't even that bad, he'll go baseline in the same situation and run into JV and his defender sometimes.

7. DeMar DeRozan, Looking Off His Big Man
DeRozan is always going to be a score-first guy who eats inside the arc, and that’s fine. He draws a ton of fouls, and he honed his midrange shot into a weapon before slumping this season. He’s not a great passer, or even a good one on some nights, but he’s improved incrementally every season.
But sometimes his game gets out of whack and DeRozan drives directly at a clean Jonas Valanciunas post-up:

DeRozan finds Patrick Patterson in the nick of time for a good look, but it’s a desperate play, and it comes at the expense of an easier alternative. Valanciunas is shooting 51 percent on post-ups this season and drawing a pile of fouls, per Synergy. His passing needs major work, but Valanciunas is dangerous with a smaller defender pinned behind him.

I don't even think its just Demar, everyone looks Jonas off in the post. The fact that he only got 1 shot up in the loss to the bulls when he came in averaging 14 & 12 on 80% over his previous few games, is insane. That should never happen

If Jonas was a more consistent offensive player he'd be able to demand the ball...I do understand why he gets looked off sometimes.
He doesnt have a certain presence i want from your starting 5...If he always sealed down low and had good position and didnt cry like a baby and swing his arms like a fakkit when he dont get whistles he'd command those looks...as much of it is his demeanor as it is his game.

Like @Fey77 said DMC,Gasol,Dwight would get that ball every time...

I have changed my mind on DD.I dont think they'd get much for him right now with him only having one more season after this, what do you think you'd get from him coming off a down year ?

He aint going anywhere...

He's consistent as far as being a high % efficient scorer out of the low post, but I'd agree that he needs to consistently be more assertive in demanding the ball. Too often he'll get good position and just put an arm up to let them know. He shouldn't have to because going inside to your best option should be a given ( I blame casey for this), but yeah he needs to get vocal and demand the ball

There is way more to it then his FG % which is a skewered number based on the fact he beasts against shytty teams with no size but he struggles mightily against competent big men and competent defenses...I would say its game to game, not a general rule we should be force feeding him.

Tonight i like him going against Monroe or Drummond in the post as one is shytty defender and the other is dumbass who still falls for Vals horrible pumpfakes...Id let him eat early on until SVG makes an adjustment as long as hes scoring...

Ive said before Jonas should never be the focal point of any offense but this team becomes easy to defend when we just allow our guards to free lance and iso....We'd open up space if we got the ball to him in the block and force the defense to defend us differently...

To me its just about using Jonas as a facilitator more and creating different offensive looks that dont make us so predictable...Jonas doesnt need to be the #1 scoring option for us to do that....
