No they didnt,Raps fan base and city and corporate sponsorship was much bigger.
VC put some butts in the seats and brought NBC here and created some buzz but its overstated what he did for the franchise imo...
In the end when he left he hurt the image and the brand of this organization ALOT...

How old are you? Did you grow up in Canada? I was in Vancouver and me and all my boys where raptors fans not Grizzlie fans because of VC. Toronto games were watched more here than Vancouver games because of Vince Carter. So many people picked up a basketball because of that dude..Hoops where going up instead of hockey nets because of this dude.
