there's no such thing as truth. we're generations deep of living lies and our culture(s) are based off these lies.
People use this as an excuse to check out.

takes too much time and money to get to truth. many times you just won't get there. even by the time you get there it's too late... Culture's also changed and we're living off the lie and careers are being made off the lies.. Eh war on drugs, 9-11unspun facts are true. "The truth is out there" it's just been presented in a fuked up way to fit agendas.
It's both sad and telling that some many people regard the "truth" as something that is impossible to arrive at. EVERY question you can possess, particularly about politics has an actual answer, is it really so far fetch to imagine someone presenting that?
which I get. BUT, you can present the "facts" even if one of the "facts" is that the outcome is unknown.
people who can do their own research and make up their own minds? that's the last thing politicians or news agencies want.A presentation of facts so that the viewer can be informed and make their own decision?

WE do live this way as a society but I wonder how much is a lack of options? I view Fox and MSNBC as junk food. It's easier to get to but bad for you. A conscious effort has to be made in order to find the "good for you" information.takes too much time and money to get to truth. many times you just won't get there. even by the time you get there it's too late... people wanting to find the truth these days have been 'reduced' to or labeled as conspiracy theorists.
Ppl can watch msnbc/fox and live by those facts presented to them and be perfectly fine to what they've subscribed to.. Same thing as ppl who live by their religions..
as some who can play with numbers it can be proven that 1+1=3

I think a large enough portion of society would RATHER get the "truth" vs the junk they get.
I don't doubt it's difficult, and being 100% accurate, or even being in possession of all the facts, would be almost impossible, but if the "mission" was to simply gather all the AVAILABLE information and present it as honestly as possible sans spin."unknown" is not an acceptable answer though. people want something they can hang their hat on or information they can use to support their decision making process. if someone plugs in answers to questions 1-10 and the response comes back "unknown" they're going to tear the club up.

do you think people know the bolded? I'm fairly certain most news outlets, particularly the popular ones never voiced this or if they did they did so in passing.
You don't believe that....If that were the case, half of the legislation that was passed over the last 45 years would have been shot down by the general public...There would have been protests in the street....Some of the more unpopular bills that have passed recently, Obama\Romney\Hilary Care and the patriot act were written a long time ago....The patriot act was brought to the table wayy before 9\11....And that aint no conspiracy theory

What's crazy to me is i'm asking if it's possible to report truth. So far i'm getting "no".
That doesn't disturb anyone else?
is that a requirement? Its impossible to deliver unadulterated truth and expect capitalists to make exponential revenue......and yes, its very disturbing.....downright disheartening actually
is that a requirement?
So in order to speak truth to power truth has to not cost money? In America? Absolutely
So in order to speak truth to power truth has to not cost money?
Just to clarify are you saying that's how it is, how it should be or how you want it to be?
Personally, the truth is the truth is the truth, we don't see it enough to recognize it IMHO, but never the less information is what it is.
How that information is used is what constitutes different news channels now, which is why you can read the same story on 5 different websites and get 5 different answers and then filter out MOST of the truth....i'm just not finding any places that does that in and of itself. Ironically I was listening to Dan Carlins newest "common sense" pod cast a few minutes ago and he touched on this topic as well and apparently one of the founders of ebay is thinking of doing something similar to what i'm saying here
