it seemed like while Marvel was trying to figure out how to pull off the Avengers movie, they green lit IM2 just to make a quick buck while introducing Black Widow and revealing that Tony's dad was an OG member of SHIELD. The main plot of IM2 was pretty much a standalone story that didn't contribute the the main Avengers story at all like Thor & Cap...

I just watched both IM2 and Thor for the first time on netflix this weekend. I liked Thor a lot more. Don't like my opinion eat a dikk :manny: Neither are cinematic masterpieces worth in depth critiquing. Next up I'm watching Captain America (I haven't seen Avengers yet).

Loved that movie and thought it was better than the first. Seem to be in the minority w/that opinion though :manny:

Definitely not better than the first but I liked it more the 2nd time I watched it. Not a bad movie.

Captian America is dope. Better than IM 2 and Thor, not as good as IM 1 or Avengers.

If you watch Captain America first you'll gain a better appreciation for Iron Man 2....You realize the New Element that Tony created is actually connected the energy source the Terrasect was putting into those Hydra weapons.

Scarlet Johansson was definitely wack in that movie.

Don Cheadle can't pull off a tough serious military character.

and yeah they fukked up Justin Hammer's character, but that's entirely the actors fault, he wanted to play him as a guy who wished he was Tony Stark.

:what:

You clearly have no idea how movies are made my friend.
Sam Rockwell is the 5-6th biggest name in the movie, you really think he had any say in how the character was developed in this huge movie?

Nah son

They wanted a cocky young-ish dude that likes to dance and Sam Rockwell is the guy you want for that.

No, you clearly have no idea how they made the first two Iron Man films. By all accounts both films were made with a lot of the dialog being improvised. Mickie Rourke said in interviews that a lot of stuff about his character (speaking in Russian, the tattoos, the bird) were HIS ideas. Jeff Bridges said he had never worked on a film like that before because there really wasn't a script. In fact I vaguely remembered one of the actors saying the reason the second film didn't work was because they tried to film it just like the first film (with virtually no script).
