..I might cave and cop the ps5 bundle just for this game...I can justify it for the 4k player thats built in. I'll wait for reviews but XVI looks like a return to the glory days for FF.

A report indicates that Square Enix is 'panicking' behind the scenes regarding pre-orders for the upcoming franchise release, Final Fantasy 16.

Just put in my preorder for the physical copy at Best Buy.
I kind of fukked up though because I wanted to get the digital. I redeemed some of my reward points on my Amex card for a $50 Best Buy gift card and was planning to use that to get a PS Store gift card to get the digital edition. I completely forgot you can’t use a gift card to buy other gift cards at Best Buy so I ended up going with the physical copy.
No midnight release for me.
I get a steelbook with my copy so that’s cool I guess?

this game essentially has the same premise as 7. People in 7 became overly reliant on Mako energy, which was a parallel to how we use fossil fuels. People in 16 rely on the magic from the crystals to do everything in their day to day lives, like securing water, heating their homes, etc.
