I liked the side quests. They added to the overall feeling that I was in an actual “world”

This is the first game i’ve played since Persona 4 Golden where I felt like I NEEDED to complete all sidequests

Gotta disagree, the sidequests were incredibly bland and generic and for the most part didn’t add anything

its the worst kind of filler

adds no color to the world or exposes how actively bland it is

all to essentially timegate you out of the content you actually want to do

You are talking a bunch of shyt, the side quests add a huge amount in terms of world building.
how is running around delivering snacks and finding the saltiest rocks world building

put that shyt in a cutscene or dialogue box and give me my time back :dead: when mid showed up with another list of bullshyt after the titan fight, i knew what time it was and uninstalled

Yeah at the end of the game the side quests are almost all the worldbuilding left in the game. It's most of the closure the main plot gives as well.

That's the end of the game side quests and it doesn't necessarily make up for the bulk of the filler quest before it and it's placement.

Even then, the game does a shytty job of noting the importance as I finished all of the side quests before I realized that the Jill and Joshua ones were the most important as they allowed them to become permanent members of your party.

There are entire plot threads that transition from being main plot to side quests. You meet characters in the main game and their story continues in the side quests through multiple quests.

Not saying there wasn't a lot of filler but that's the nature of side quests overall in games.
