I have a question I am about to board the ferry will I be able to go back and finish those side missions or do I need to do them before getting on the ferry


This game is very enjoyable to me so far but I will say that I have to get used to a Japanese RPG again I have not played one in so long

I'm not expecting this to compete with Witcher 3. As far as the underwhelming side quests, I don't really expect them anyway in a final fantasy game, just give me a solid story, detailed world and good combat mechanics and that's all I need to cop. Hopefully the patches fixes the camera issues though.

The og FF had cool side quests, mainly because there were a lot less of them and often you just 'discovered' them. FF9 was great in this respect.

The Witcher is the only game that can do side quests properly in a game this big and open.

Thats where i got up to. I didnt wanna hop on the ferry so I kept doing all the hunts and fishing like a madman. Brehs honestly the fishing is worth the price of admission.
I cant wait to find a new fishing spot and catch some new rare fish. That angler psn pre order set helped a tiny bit but the special bait you get from it you can just cop individual ones for like 40 gil each so the angler set was just a quality of life thing for the early area. EDIT- actually they gave you some special fishing equips that boosted your fishing stats. With that, plus the more powerful fishing line and levelling up fishing to 2 or 3 I was able to catch that rare fish in the first area

But I really think this game will lack replay value. Being that I played 6 hours and have done only sidequests feels like a game that I will only play once. Like imagine FF8 taking 6 hours before you even fight Ifrit. Not saying the game is bad but I dont think Im gonna wanna do all these hunts and shyt AGAIN after already completing the game.
