Honestly I've heard the opposite.

After watching the story video above I can tell its the kind of anime trope-ish bullshyt which we've all learned to expect from FF. As always though, if they get the world, the music and the combat right then...

When you have to do a mission to feed a damn cat I had to realize it was done to force you to play the fishing mini game which is actually pretty fun when you learn how to not snap your line.

It was surprisingly what got my wife most excited.

nah you will enjoy the game but what i mean is if you will enjoy the story combat is great but a lot of things start getting rushed will not tell you anymore but like many others i will enjoy the game for what it is.

8 had a great ending. Sucks that it was during the credits but it was still great. 9 might have the best ending in the series. They nailed it with the play.
