IT’S CONFIRMED: FINAL FANTASY XV PROMPTO SHOOTER VR IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN
SIRUS GAMINGAUGUST 10, 2017
1 MIN READ
Initially showcased at E3 2016, the Final Fantasy XV VR Experience revealed that players were able to play as Prompto on VR. The trailer showed its shooting mechanics as well as the abilityto warp from certain areas in the map. Everyone was excited for the Prompto-VR experience.

Final Fantasy XV Lead Designer, Wan Hazmer, at PlayStation Experience 2017 South East Asia

However, it’s unfortunate that we will never get to experience what was showcased back at E3 2016. It has been confirmed by the Lead Designer of Final Fantasy XV, Wan Hazmer, in a closed-media briefing at PlayStation Experience 2017 South East Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last Saturday (August 5) that the Prompto shooting VR was to merely showcase the power of the device.

“The Prompto Shooting game was actually a showcase back then. It was just to showcase the power of the VR – but we have Monster of the Deep! Can you imagine having a Prompto DLC and also having a Prompto VR. Right? We want to offer something very different for every single entry of Final Fantasy XV.”
Fans who were waiting for the Prompto-shooting VR, it’s time to lay it to rest as it’s been confirmed by the Lead Designer himself at PSX 2017 South East.

Monster of the Deep is confirmed to launch later this year and will also be a standalone title – that means you don’t have to get Final Fantasy XV to play Monster of the Deep.

Editor’s Note: Sirus Gaming attended PlayStation Experience 2017 South East Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last August 5.

Almost a year later and they're still releasing "content" for this game. Some of this "content" is stuff that should have been included in the main game's story but was cut so they could get the game out quicker only to now be to be added back in later.

It's just sad to me that this is the reality we have. Games being edited down and rushed out unfinished to cash in on hype and anticipation only to be finished later.

I'm not really inclined to revisit this game after finishing the initial release. Maybe the people that come later and play it for the first time will hold it in higher regard but I'll always remember it for the game it was when it was released rather than what it becomes when they actually finish it. That original version while acceptable was a huge disappointment and looking at the full story it didn't have to be. There's the concept of a much better game burred in the rushed mess that was released.
