when it comes to mobb deep i think it was mainly hav's production that kept them afloat. they had their moments and they both had a real grimey delivery, but a lot of their top shelf beats would have been better in the hands of someone else.

prodigy was like 80% raw delivery imo.
I'd say 50% delivery and the other 50 his ability to be incredibly visual and visceral with his imagery, which counts for a lot in my book. Rock you in your face stab your brain with your nose bone...put holes through your shirt like jamaican clothes...just shyt like that which puts you exactly in a mind state and a place which counts a lot for an MC

i fux wit prodigy i just don't see why ppl put him on that top tier. i can't recall a single time he ever had the best verse on any posse cut. anytime a big name rapper was featured on a song (nas, mef, lil kim) the mobb took a backseat.
nas might have the most legendary career ever if he got fed hav beats like prodigy did.
