He saw the movie as a kid and only remembers a part of it. I've had it happened to me a few times and I remember some TFR brehs helped me find a couple movies with even less info. So...

This was def a 80's era movie that I seen on regular TV and it was the movie of the day....i was probably 8 or 9..... I remember after the guy shot the mirror it went to commercial.... Hell of a cliffhanger but I can't remember anything else.....

Not a tv show... It could have been played in theaters but I feel like it was a B budget flick....
