You can't believe the average white HBO viewer would care about Chalky's storyline. The theme's are powerful, but with so much going on, Chalky was always gonna play the background. He definitely can't be muscle, they would burn the whole black side of town to the ground.
You saying they are not doing a good job fleshing out Harrow's story? Its not like they can have Harrow from socially awkward, acceptance craving introvert to a confident alpha male. That task alone would take a lot of screen time.
At this point why would they even force Van Alden's story, he is already a fan favorite.
