After 28 years, I never put it together in my mind why Ali had the flame at the 96 Olympics until the end of the show. He helped put the city on the map!!!! goddamn, I never even thought about that..

Dope series. Just makes me want a spinoff gangsta show with Sam, Taraji & Terrence. Gotta see what Debbie Allen gonna cook up against Sam:wow:. Or atleast a prequel showing the young black godfather and OG Caddy

Just binged

Kevin got his chance and missed

He single handily bought down the quality of the show. And I’m not a Kevin hater, he just couldn’t pull off the 1970s down south fast talking hustler. At all lol.

In fact most of the cast weren’t convincing. Outside the heavy hitters like Sam Jax, Don Cheadle, the only character that seemed like he fit was the Emmory or Emerald nicca. Dude that took orders from Terrance Howard to set up the robbery.

Speaking of that, why did the other light skin dude Willy Black, force that terrible southern accent if he is supposed to be from New Jersey:why: made no sense.

The cac actors were solid and believable of course. All they did was act how they act behind closed doors but this time got paid to do it :wow:

With the conclusion of this limited series I give it a 8.5/10, alot of black excellence and great performances.

A few things:

Willie Black is the same bruh that played Lamar's right hand man in BMF, that he eventually killed.

GGi7gDNaQAAMvRb

Shout outs to my man Navv Greene (85 South) for getting more work out here

The Landlord that was punking Young Ray and fukkin his moms was that psycho connect K-9 in BMF
(Son might be type-casted :mjlol: )

David Banner killed his role, and I didn't even realize Mushmouth was Clifton Powell til halfway through the series :heh:

Whoever did the writing on his film had Kevin's character quote 3 Stacks from his Source Awards speech "South has something to say"

And lastly, Teresa Celeste fine ass quoted a classic Cool Breeze track, Cre-A-Tine when she said "She got people.. everywhere". It was the cadence she said it in that you could tell it was reference to that song.
