They charged them under the RICO act, they face up to 20 years in prison and assets seizure.
Loretta Lynch ain't fukking around.

Sadly I think we're being too positive here. They'll punish some but Blatter will remain unscathed and continue for 4 more years.

Also, to my demise, I don't think there's power in this world that will ever cancel the Qatar WC.

The best thing about this is we'll probably hear John Oliver ranting on his show come Sunday.
First of all, you lost a bid to Qatar, fukking Qatar, yo!
There's pride on the line here.

Also, whenever them euros are getting screwed by someone they can't lick, be it Hitler or Blatter, the US gotta step up. They're weak up there...

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with Loretta Lynch whose only been on the job for a few weeks.
She oversaw the case in her previous job (the Brooklyn office apparently played a major role in the investigation).

Also, I'm pretty sure an extradition request on such high profile has to go through the attorney general, if they fukk it up, her ass is going to be on the line, and she deserves some dap for pulling the trigger.

Though I agree that there's a whole lot of lawyers who probably did most of the heavy lifting, but that's true for everything in life, little people do the work, big bosses get the credit.

Lynch was working on the case before the new gig

yep.

Here's an article of how the feds were all over Chuck Blazer and got him to be a confidential informant from this past November:
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/s...-chuck-blazer-fbi-informant-article-1.1995761

His surreptitious assistance over the last three years coincided with a series of internally commissioned corruption investigations that stretch from the Caribbean to Zurich, from Australia to Moscow to Qatar, the small Arab nation playing host to the 2022 World Cup. Closer to home, the feds are collaborating on the case pursued by Brooklyn federal prosecutors, sources told The News.

“We cannot confirm, deny or comment on any such case,” said a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of New York.

The investigation, according to sources, includes a grand jury and has generated requests sent to subjects in foreign jurisdictions including Zurich, home to FIFA’s opulent, heavily secured headquarters, where Swiss banking secrecy laws have long protected massive business deals from public scrutiny.

and a lil on how he came to be so big.

I stand corrected. :snoop:

If the US or Australia got the 2022 WC, we wouldn't be hearing about this.
You also know them Brits wouldn't be bytching about FIFA if they were awarded the 2018 World Cup.
They even got caught giving designer handbags to the wives of FIFA officials (Putin's gifts were obviously more luxurious)
Remember how quiet they got after Tony Blair put in work to get the 2012 Olympics? Suddenly, gifts to IOC voters were "just part of the lobbying process":sas1:

The problem wasn't getting little bribes here and there, its the way the money was handled. Deals were made on US soil. That's why US is able to go after them. And don't think the US won't extradite people. Especially business execs. My sister used to work at NSDL and they would certainly get requests like this from countries with extradition treaties with the US. On a case like this, this isn't someone being mad about not getting the world cup. Would be more about some major money was passing hands criminally. Enough to get on someone's radar. No different than Bernie Ecclestone getting on the radar of some of these countries. Most could care less about Formula 1, but as soon as them backroom deals get the attention of the wrong agency, they will go after you. Nothing to do with priviledge. Shyt like this happens all the time.
