NOTHING was gonna keep ronaldo from playing in that game

nike didn't have shyt to do with it, even if they tried to have shyt to do with it

You sure?
Well before game - The Selacio stated he had convulsions earlier in the morning. Didn't know status of him playing
2 hours before game - Ronaldo not included in press package line-up
1 hour a half before - Selacio announces that he had fits the night before and should not start, but will be included on bench
1 hour before game - Not included in line-up given to FIFA
15 minutes before game - Inserted in starting line-up, FIFA accepts
Run-out - dude shows up looking like a zombie

Someone pressured him to play. Dude looked like trash and worn out. If you really think he was going to play no matter what, you're crazy. This isn't Micheal Jordan with the flu or Willis Reed with a bum leg. Nike had everything to do with that shyt. They forced him in. He was the centerpiece of a massive worldwide marketing campaign involving the Brazilian team. No way they didn't have their hand in making him play.

Roberto Carlos said Neymar was mentally weak for crying during the national anthem in 2014 and they said this nikka was crying and praying in hallway when they were trying to control Ronaldo's seizures in 1998. That dude wasn't fit to play and he looked liked it. He looked like one of us would against that level of competition.

The way i've understood it is that blatter has set everyone else up to take the fall for this day without ever being guilty of anything himself.

Not when the Feds are hitting your organization with RICO. That's why the RICO charge is such a big deal, it allows them to go after Blatter because of what the other guys did.. That part should be in the headline of every article written about this and the connection to Blatter.

What I'll bet on is that Blatter has never taken a bribe or kickback personally or had someone do it directly on his behalf. I doubt anyone will be able to do anything but insinuate that it was. He'll come out with the rest of his public perception crushed..... And skate on through until this next term is over.

The process for the World Cup host voting has been more corrupt than the Olympics and this has more to do with TV rights than that. Basically for TV rights to competitions, FIFA and the confederations sells the rights to middlemen (who have bribed them) and then receive kickbacks on the sales of the rights to broadcasters and networks. For those who want to know, ESPN is Teflon from this because they own so much equity in the broadcast rights now and American rights are the most valuable. There is no middleman.

But the most telling thing will be if Nike really did force the Brazilian Federation to play Ronaldo in the 98 World Cup Final even though the man had a seizure the night before. If that shyt comes out..... Nike Soccer might as well become Jumpman Soccer, because it's not coming back from that.

It's been obvious Brazil has been run by Nike for a minute. Brazil, given the lack of the money, has way too many issues, Nike might be the least of their worries. Germany has the same relationship with Adidas, in fact instructing all players they have to wear Adidas.

Regarding Sepp, Outside of a big mouth and poor management, he hasn't been that bad. He looked the other way but in regards to spreading the game and making the world cup way more popular he has done an incredible job. Women's football is actually a thing, something Europe and the rest of the world (excluding America) neglected. Blind and homeless football too, these have all become tournaments and part of the agenda.

Soccer is the people's game but it has exploded in the last 20 years because of people like Sepp and Jack Warner. It's an ugly truth. You have players from Africa, America, Asia, and the Caribbean using soccer as a vehicle to support their families, this didn't occur before.

:yeshrug: all this is true, but Ronaldo is an insane person who has no other talents or ambitions in life and played full seasons in the brasileirão as a fat near-diabetic

my hearsay is as powerful as anyone else's, i wouldn't be surprised to find out if he went to nike himself

and what @Montez says is true, Chuck Blazer has done more for women's sports than Title IX, and his unsavory colleagues have grown the game's popularity to unbelievable heights

the thing i cant get down with is the all the labor and humans rights abuses. them receiving millions and shrugging that off is gonna be seen as their eventual tipping point

The amount of documents that must have been shred by members of FIFA and the IOC since yesterday must be imense
Bruh, you know they had folks furiously burning and shredding shyt. Also sending out some 'snitches get stitches ' phone calls, on burner phones. Doing shyt like gang bangers on The Wire, sending coded messages with pictures of clocks and shyt. These dudes are straight Mafia.
