Yo...this is what I've been noticing as of late.
Whenever we bring up issues of racial inequality and white supremacy, white people take it personal. They think when we're attacking white supremacy, white privilege, and racism...they think we're attacking them. That's why I feel like whenever they try to get on the defensive, they just show their true colors. The fact that they're responding to this instance of racism with racism and stereotypes to justify Mike Brown and other's deaths...proves this. The fact that there are white people that actually are seeing how messed up this situation is proves this. If they weren't taking it as a personal attack and rather as a comment on how utterly flawed this system is, they wouldn't feel the need to get defensive.
Yes...not all white people are racist. But ALL white people benefit from racism. What's so hard to understand about this?
