I know all about stokely Carmichael, and his stance on protesting peacefully. He said once that an organization which claims to be working for the needs of the community, must work to provide that community with a position of strength from which to make its voice heard. A rule I tend to follow is I can't criticize people for not doing something I'm not willing to do myself. If you truly believe in something then you can't wait for others to do it first, and then jump in. You may have to be the first to act, or at least organize it yourself. Then if people follow....they follow, but you have to be willing regardless.
