Yoo i noticed too.. but i think the japanese mangas are more mainstream and light hearted despite some story lines, while feng shen ji is not for kids cause aint nothing pretty bout it... nikkas getting split in half and eyes getting plucked out lol

Yeah the only one that comes close is Hunter x Hunter in terms of just pure bleakness

Tho maybe its cause I'm older now I enjoy more darker toned manga

But I still enjoy shiz like one piece and bleach tho that's pretty much gonna one of my GOAT's
