Identifying someone else's whiteness is not the same as identifying with blackness. This also assumes that blackness and whiteness exist in a binary absent of anything else? What are south asians and east asians?

Point is that internal conflicts existed in Africa long before european colonialism and Africa was NEVER united as a whole BEFORE european colonialism. Attempts to do such are a RESULT of european colonalism ironically, not in spite of it.

Furthermore you can't compared "pan europeanism" which is actually WAY more natural and organic than pan africanism given the much smaller size and homogeneity of europe and it's people. THEY do actually have many uniting characteristics. ie Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian culture, also similar genetic make up.
