I’m not even criticizing her going to tiktok, I only said I hope she also complained to her program. Don’t see why that’s so controversial.

Women shouldn't even playing basketball in the first place.
You're such a weirdo :snoop:
What's the point in even thinking thoughts like this. The women who want to play are gonna play

Besides Women’s tennis and World Cup soccer no other Women’s sport draws any money. :yeshrug:

That's for pro salaries though.

College women's game actually draws decent ratings, and the overall difference in college facilities for a gym is too large imo

It is the corniest of the corniest shyt these grown ass men do. All my years I’ve been here I’ve chalked it up to these losers using the internet to vent their inner most stupid thoughts because the shyt the say would get the breaks beat tf out of them in real life, or they wouldn’t say it at all cause they know how idiotic they sound no matter how tough or manly they try to appear on here. They’ll tell you they don’t care too. I genuinely think they swear they sound clever and tough.

Anyway, echoing what others say- unacceptable. Only people who don’t go to gyms would assume women don’t require adequate equipment for strength training. Especially athletes? Wtf.
Does it even matter that nobody’s lifting weights during the tournament cause that’s not what basketball teams do? It’s wrong. I understand that.... But are we supposed to die on every hill? Aren’t there more pressing issues to get worked up over. (Like the attack on Asian Americans) Nobody’s rights are being violated, and no one’s is being oppressed. Somebody will bring more equipment in for the next round.

Stuff like this just low hanging fruit. It’s such an easy fix that people who want credit for fighting for equality will come out and scream the loudest for justice. And bring some extra weights in you will go home feeling like Rosa Parks or Malcolm X without risking a single thing but posts on social media.

I noticed this “low hanging fruit” thing when they had mass killing in ‘Georgia awhile back. It done by this dude was clearly mentally ill. Before he offed himself, he wrapped itself up in the confederate flag. And people went ballistic about banning the confederate flag. And when that flag got banned they went home and nobody cared to address the real issues that created the mental illness. I realized then they didn’t address it because that is actually hard work and not as easy and convenient as getting a flag banned.

Above the fray.
I hope yo daughter ain’t into sports :picard:,
Chick in the video has the wrong tone, and used the wrong choice of words to make her point.

She has people in authority positions in her program who she can address about this. THOSE people know the direct people in authority positions in the NCAA who they can address about this.
If that's happening, and she STILL feels the need to air this out publicly, then she could have just stated her case by airing out/addressing the person or people responsible for the oversight or decision. Those are the ones responsible for this problem.

"If this doesn't get you upset, then you are part of the problem" is a weird attention grab/shaming tactic that doesn't make sense, or help her cause.

What the women athletes had was inadequate however some will use that to then equate women's sports to that of men's sports.

There's no 1 to 1 comparison whether it's in competition, amenities, or most importantly compensation.

The degree to which there's any money in school or recreational sports, let alone that anyone should get paid to play a game for a living, is wholly contingent on men prioritizing athletics. Women's sports and to a lesser degree children's and special needs athletics is a subsidiary of the male sports industry and professional pipeline with the billions of dollars it generates.

Women's facilities and gyms are notoriously bad when it comes to weights. That's why women athletes and such if they are serious take their asses over to male spaces to workout. That was probably the expectation here with the NCAA, that the women who wanted heavier weights would go over to the other side. Even so that setup beyond the weights was unacceptable.
