Longtime Arizona QAnon supporter in horned helmet joins storming of U.S. Capitol

Among the supporters of President Donald Trump who mobbed their way into the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, one – unmistakable in his fur, horned hat and painted face – was Jake Angeli, a QAnon supporter who has been a fixture at Arizona right-wing political rallies over the past year.

Angeli was seen in photographs from Washington, D.C., amid protesters who turned violent and stormed the building, causing both chambers to suspend their intended action of the day: certifying the results of the presidential election for former vice president Joe Biden.

At one point, Angeli was seen on the dais of the U.S. Senate. He posed for a photo flexing his right arm; his left was holding a spear from which hung a U.S. flag.

Since at least 2019, Angeli has held forth outside the Arizona Capitol shouting about various conspiracy theories, most related to the wide-ranging beliefs espoused by QAnon.

Angeli, in a 2020 interview with The Arizona Republic, said that he wears the fur bonnet, paints his face and walks around shirtless with ragged pants as a way to attract attention.

Then, he said, he is able to speak to people about his beliefs about QAnon and other truths he says remain hidden.

The QAnon school of thought supposes that a high-level government agent with Q-level security clearance has been unspooling cryptic clues about secret investigations inside Washington, D.C. Some of those investigations involve politicians running a child sex trafficking ring.

In February 2020, Angeli worked the crowd outside a rally in Phoenix for Trump.

He held up a tattered sign that read, “Q sent me,” and asked the crowd if they knew of the conspiracy. Several met him with affirmative nods.

“The snowball has been rolling and it’s only getting bigger,” Angeli said at the time. “We’re the mainstream now.”

Reached on his cellphone Wednesday evening, Angeli refused an interview with The Republic.

He did speak with a correspondent from the Globe and Mail of Toronto, according to a Tweet from that reporter, saying that police had stopped trying to block him and other Trump supporters and let them into the Capitol. After some time, according to the Tweet, Angeli said police politely asked him to leave.

SPECIAL REPORT: How a radio host planted seeds of the QAnon conspiracy theory

Angeli was a fixture at rallies to re-open Arizona businesses shuttered by the government as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He has also been at rallies contesting the Arizona election results.

Besides the government corruption espoused by QAnon, Angeli believes that leaders have conspired to keep blockbuster scientific discoveries from the public in order to maintain the system as it is.

Angeli said that he discovered much of what he found through his own research on the Internet. That research – which included “Behold a Pale Horse” by the Arizona author William Copper – involved shadowy groups, including the Illuminati, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg group, that control the world.

“At a certain point, it all clicked in a way,” he said. “Oh, my God. I see now the reality of what’s going on.”

The Q movement, he said, validated beliefs he had held as far back as 2016.

1 Californian, 3 Oregonians Arrested So Far After Deadly U.S. Capitol Riot
WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS13/AP) — Police in Washington, D.C. have identified four people — one from California and three from Oregon — who were arrested in connection to a mob of pro-Trump supporters who violently stormed the U.S. Capitol and the events afterward.

According to MPD’s arrest database, 82 people were arrested in total. One of those people is a California resident and three live in Oregon:

  • 38-year-old Julia Titus of California was arrested Thursday in the 600 block of H Street NW for violating curfew.
  • 54-year-old Yevgemya Malimon of Oregon was arrested Wednesday in the 100 block of First Street NW for violating curfew, unlawful entry.
  • 28-year-old Kristina Malimon of Oregon was arrested Wednesday in the 100 block of First Street NW for violating curfew, unlawful entry.
  • 57-year-old Rodney Taylor of Oregon was arrested Wednesday in the 100 block of First Street NW for violating curfew.
The riot left more than 50 Capitol and D.C. police injured, including several who were hospitalized, Capitol Police said.

Four people also died during the riot. Acting Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee identified the woman shot and killed by Capitol police as 35-year-old Ashli Babbit. CBS Los Angeles reported Babbit was from San Diego. Three others, who died from medical emergencies, were identified as 50-year-old Benjamin Phillips of Ringtown, Pa., 55-year-old Kevin Greeson of Athens, Ala. and 34-year-old Roseanne Boleyn of Kennesaw, Georgia.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said they would be investigating the Capitol Police response to the violence Wednesday, calling it a “failure.”

“Obviously it was a failure or you would not have had people enter the Capitol by breaking windows and terrorizing the members of Congress who were doing a very sacred requirement of their jobs,″ she said.

However, the head of the U.S. Capitol Police defended his department’s response to the storming of the Capitol, saying Thursday that officers “acted valiantly when faced with thousands of individuals involved in violent riotous actions.”

Chief Steven Sund, in his first public comment on the mayhem from Wednesday, said in a statement that rioters “actively attacked” Capitol police and other law enforcement officers with metal pipes, discharged chemical irritants and “took up other weapons against our officers.”

The siege, as the House and Senate were affirming President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory, was “unlike any I have ever experienced in my 30 years in law enforcement here in Washington, D.C.,″ said Sund, a former city police officer. ”Make no mistake: these mass riots were not First Amendment activities; they were criminal riotous behavior. The actions of the USCP officers were heroic given the situation they faced.″

Lawmakers from both parties have pledged to investigate law enforcement’s actions and questioned whether a lack of preparedness allowed a mob to occupy and vandalize the building.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Falkville man is one of 14 people arrested by U.S. Capitol Police during Wednesday’s riot.

Lonnie Coffman was charged with carrying a pistol without a license, having an unregistered firearm and having unregistered ammunition, according to police.

Coffman — initially incorrectly identified by police as Lonnie Zoffman — was one of 14 people listed in the arrests made at the U.S. Capitol in Wednesday’s riot that started during a Save America rally that resulted in protestors storming the Capitol building. The riot ended with police shooting and killing one woman, and police said three other people died from medical emergencies.

Police did not release any more information about Coffman’s arrest.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said it has had no past interactions with Coffman. A search of Alabama’s online court records revealed no past criminal record.

Police said they are working to identify more people and make arrests connected to the riot.

The FBI and other 3 letter agencies most defintely have cell phone stingray towers and can track people off that using the IMEI & IMSI numbers of their cellphones & service carrier. They can cross reference that infor with their own databases. :russell:

Yet they asking for help to find these cacs:dahell:

Now either these institutions are incompetent as hell & not as powerful as we are lead to be believe or they are lowkey being complicit and dragging their feet on this.

They are actually even past that point look at the area they are in and the tech they have available...They don't need any damn help...They just need to go get the ones they are going to get....And if they don't get any it basically proves everyone right about systematic racism...Actually we already know that if that was NFAC or even BLM for that matter that did that their would of been more bullets used and than some.

One of them got charged with unlicensed carry, homemade ammo, and a throwaway pistol he's doing time for sure.

Am I tripping but where are the criminal trespass, assaulting's an officer, bringing weapon onto federal property etc charges....It's enough charges they all have to be getting stiff time....And since we all know this was a coordinated event I'm sure they have something there also...They should have an R Kelly list of crimes tossed at them.
