Hebrews or not, you can't change people who don't want help. This hundreds of years in and people are still like this.

Just worry about yourself.
I don't take the words of the Israelites as truth. Dudes are over the top street corner charlatans shouting with bullhorns.

I grew up going to church like most other black folks. It took me to actually reading the Bible and thinking critically to see it is no different than any other religion that we now call myth. Being a lover of history and science further cemented my thoughts.

The guy in that video is a former pastor

Since you only pointed out that one verse Im going to assume you don't have the missing context from the other statements in that video

Jesus thought the end of the world was coming in his lifetime which is why he was telling his followers to give up everything (even their families), follow him and they will be rewarded ten fold in the afterlife.

John Smith did the same stuff Jesus did (even being killed by his "persecutors") but it happened in recent enough history to where we have documentation that he was a farce yet he still managed to get created this massive religion that is still going on today.
I'm sure you are able to see that John Smith was a cult leader as you do with Mohammed
This is video from an ex mormon

First off, being a “pastor” means nothing. Doesn’t guarantee he knows the scriptures or understands it or has a good relationship with God

Plenty false prophets. Fake pastors and bad churches out there especially in the black community

Me or you could’ve made a better “pastor” hypothetically

Titles like that don’t impress me or hold any weight without actual proof

Moving on…..

I watched the entire video and breh it’s kinda pathetic

Out of 4 gospels and all Jesus teachings

He brings out 4-5 instances that might be problematic

Most of these being common talking points Muslims use to say Jesus gospel was corrupted and can be debunked with a simple YouTube or google search.

These “issues” have been explained over and over. It’s almost a joke that a former “pastor” would stoop this low and make a video centered around such weak attacks on Jesus character

Like Jesus using the “Dog” referring to a gentile woman in an analogy.

If you don’t get this story you lack understanding

Another is Jesus telling his followers those who lose everything and leave everyone to follow him will get their rewards in the future/eternal life

^this remains to be seen (as far as I’m concerned the world hasn’t ended yet) as we are still technically in the “last days”

The other issues he brings up can be refuted in my past posts and the understanding that

NOTHING SHOULD COME BETWEEN YOU AND GOD

Jesus followers believed him to be God/Messiah and son of God etc…so this type of loyalty and sacrifice is understood

You see it as a CULT LEADER fleecing his followers and giving extreme ultimatums and Jesus followers see it as dedication to GOD and trusting his will.

Ultimately it’s about faith.

Now the only part in the video where he might have a good point is

Mathew 13:13

And that’s because it requires some theological background and Bible knowledge to understand the point Jesus is making

1. He’s talking to JEWS not the so called pastor in this video who I assume is ignorant of the Old Testament scriptures and stories Jesus is referring to

Jesus is quoting a scripture that most Jews would understand

isaiah 6:8-10

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” He said, “Go and tell this people:

“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

Is it starting to make sense now?

Go back read the OT stories and put the pieces together. It’s a narrative that hasn’t changed.

Jesus is STILL dealing with the same people who lack FAITH and obedience to GOD

When you look at a scripture and cherry pick it and understand it on a surface level maybe YOU are the problem NOT Jesus

I guess in a way this teaching is applied directly to people like YOU and the video creator

You don’t understand because you don’t WANT TO UNDERSTAND. So god gives you what you want. :whoo:

B-b-but somehow God is to blame?

That’s like Egypt blaming God for then plagues they suffered

You see, not unlike the story of the pharaoh who’s heart was “hardened” and made an example of, some people will literally reject the gospel no matter what because they are stubborn or maybe it’s just not for them

It’s not for god to force the message on anyone.

He gives chances over and over but Some are lost and too far gone.

Actually MOST will not be saved according to Jesus

But the opportunity to save the entire world exists

I hope that cleared things up a bit, but my advice is to READ THE BIBLE YOURSELF

and stop watching YouTube videos of fake pastors who are trying to make a living on YouTube by attacking Christianity

By chance, if that YouTuber is reading this I suggest he also try attacking Islam. There’s plenty clicks and views to be made on anti Muslim content

Only problem is, unlike Christians, the Muslim community just might attack back :youngsabo:

Your posts are like the equivalent to gish gallop. It's hard to keep track with what you are getting at because you are all over the place.

He mentions he doesn't talk about Islam because he doesn't know much about Islam.

I mentioned that I have read it and it contributed to me tossing religion to the bushes

There were no string of plagues in Egypt, historically. They had their own gods that predated the Yahweh.

Matthew 13: 1-23 and Mark 4: 1-20 (they are both pretty much the same) say that since they aren't believers there is no point in telling them. I'm assuming he means the gentiles which aligns with Matthew 15: 21-28 where the dog quote comes from
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

You didn't provide the missing context or what's it an analogy for. You are mostly attacking someone's lack of faith for not believing.
If you got something that is viewed wrong or overlooked than provide it.

Matthew 19
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”

28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[e] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

Luke 14
25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Luke 12
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

That all sounds cultish. If it weren't in the Bible and Joe Schmoe down the street was saying those lines to a crowd down the street you would be thinking the same

I like this youtubers because they are much deeper in the text than I am and I can look up the information for myself to dig deeper

It’s a funny thing you do

Judging a true prophet based off the false ones who came after to deceive and copy him

Just as it was predicted

You define “cult” how you see it, and use it as a shield to protect you from ever discovering the truth

You’d rather live in the comfort of the “unknown” which is understandable and do you by all means.

I’m not like you

People fear what they don’t understand. the unknown is a challenge to me.

If you see me as being in a cult so be it.

But your atheist views and alignment to anti Christian/anti religion YouTubers can be seen as a “cult” itself from someone else perspective.

You go harder against Christianity than some Muslims I know

And their whole religion is an actual CULT based off their claim that Bible is corrupted and Jesus isn’t who history says he is.

Same with mormons

Same with Jehovas witnesss

Same with Hebrew Israelites

Hmmm, I’d say you have the same “spirit”.

After all, if God is real and Cults are real, it’s definitely something else behind them than just a “charismatic leader”

Don’t most of these so called Cults you love talking about begin with some new “revelations” or type of vision from an “angel” or other entity?

Something to think about, breh. :manny:

Being an Israelite doesn’t mean you’re in a cult. The best way to describe the Israelites is a bloodline and the people who fit the curses in duet 28 chapter is scattered. Being an Israelite isn’t like any of the others you mentioned. I grew up a Baptist.

The Hebrew Israelites movement/religion has a begin date

And I believe your founder said he a Vision or revelation

Our Ancestors in slavery we’re never talking about “we are the real Hebrews” and let’s follow the Shabbat and not pick cotton on Saturday

Black and white abolitionists Christians worked together to abolish slavery. There was no Hebrew Israelite doctrine dividing them

MLK wasn’t a Hebrew Israelite. I guess God used him in the wrong way :sadcam:

The point is most cults to come from Christianity are characterized by a “false gospel”.

Our ancestors knew and spoke of Yah, Moses and Christ and sung them during slavery. “Negro Spirituals”

Not to mention our people then and now has Yah in our a lot of our names.

The whole point of faith is trusting without knowing and believing in the unknown. What truth are you referring to?

Yes, religion forms a cult like mindset in their followers. Earlier I posted links that pointed out the characteristics of cults and cult leaders. I have know clue how you can spin that on me lol.

Again, I was raised in Christianity, surrounded by Christians in real life, and it's the biggest religion in our country. Why on earth would I try to get into debates about Islam?

If any God is real then everything I typed is moot. However, I haven't seen any evidence of one and no God in any ancient text show themselves today despite being active according to those religious texts.

What better way to gain followers than say you have been given visions from a spiritual entity that you need to be the key to lead people to salvation so that they are saved when armageddon comes. No need to fix what's broken

You seem to have a problem with Cults in general.

Considering Islam is the biggest and most threatening one (based on its doctrine) at the moment. And its roots are based in Christianity I don’t get why you haven’t taken interest in it.

Seems like you have a particular vendetta against Christians and specifically Jesus

But I think I know why…

And like I said you throw around the word Cult and “Cult mindset” as a crutch to support you stance against religion.

Your perceived “cult mindset” when looking at Christians might be the next mans “peaceful relationship with God”. You just can’t relate at the moment. Maybe one day you will.

It's all make believe, bruh.
You can follow it if you want but, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, when it starts affecting other people's way of life or when the practitioner is having a negative experience do to it, is when I have a problem

You are fighting a war that doesn’t really exist. Outside some corners of the internet, nobody cares about lineage and diaspora wars. People are busy living their lives.
Everybody cared about lineage until we did.

You can play pretend all you want, we ain’t no diaspora, you are an imposter and infiltrator.
