A one way trip to Mars isn't equivalent to crossing the road, regardless of the facile post above me (well below your standards, Dafunkdoc.) A one-way trip to mars is a literal suicide mission, the only question is how long you're going to survive before croaking. Should people send you on it in good faith? Should you go on it if you have kids? There are a ton of questions such a mission involves.
Obviously they're going to set up conditions suitable for sustained human life to try and prevent it from being a suicide mission.

Of course there's danger involved, but like I said, you can stretch that to encompass any situation hazardous to human life. Hell, before modern transportation, I'd imagine several harsh treks to Mecca would've been suicide missions and I'm sure people died in the desert doing so.

So you're going to let some Arab tell you what you can and can't do?

Is the black power?

What in the hell, breh...
stop being ignorant. What are you upset about?

that person was speaking to uae people and a few others.. that doesn't even pertain to black Muslims. :stopitslime:

Even though, most educated people know that a trip to mars more than likely means you will never see Earth again.

:patrice:

In 2010, 4,280 pedestrians were killed and an estimated 70,000 were injured in traffic crashes in the United States. On average, a pedestrian was killed every two hours and injured every eight minutes in traffic crashes.

We are already in the heavens and in space... just on this rock and not on that one.

Yea I agree. I just dont believe we were made to travel to those planets and outerspace in general considering the difficulty of doing so. And other things, but that would probably derail the thread.

anyway, I was reading about Earth on wiki a few days ago and it said:

"The planet is home to millions of species of life, including humans"

lol :wtf: Who the fukk was this written for? Who are they talking to? I would think the 'including Humans' would be obvious.

Lol not surprising since humans try to differentiate themselves from animals though we are generally alike.

You are truly embarrassing yourself now.

Pull your panties out of your crack, breh. Humans are explorers. That's what we do.

Being afraid due to some supposed danger never stops us from trying to see what's over the horizon.

Come in and dont make a point brehs :what:
Do you think the Bible and the Quran are literally talking about outer space when they refer to the heavens? Like, do you think when you die, your soul just travels to some physical part of the universe outside of Earth, as opposed to some entirely differently spiritual plane of existence?

This is very puzzling. I remember you as someone who posted cohesively about Xtian theology and stuff, the hell happened to you?

I don't even consider the very act of being alive free from some very pressing philosophical issues. Never mind the issue of sending someone or yourself off to a terminal hostile venue.

You have only ONE life to live. I prefer not to live mine in fear or let other's fears rule my life.

Yes. (At least in the bible part, its been a minute since I've read the Quran). There are parts in the bible that refer to "outer space" as the heavens.

And I dont know where we go when we die as I havent gotten there yet. I could see it either way though. It could be that if we were allowed to freely travel the universe that we could travel and travel and travel and eventually reach where God Almighty resides. On the otherhand, God could reside on a different spiritual plane of existence :ehh: Why is one MORE plausible than the other in your opinion?
