this album trash off first 5 songs alone, generic ass hooks and beats, no concepts, nothing artistic or poignant, just basic ass gangsta bars and new school computery beats.
This is NY problem. No artistry or innovation.
Everything is either a retread of the past or trying to mimic whats popular nationwide. Where is NY's Chance or Kendrick. Not saying i was expecting that. I don't even like those nikkas like that. I like Kendrick but whatever. But YG is a classic west coast artist with a sound, bounce and twist of his own.
With this political climate, a social commentary song was a lay up.Coulda did 8 bars a piece. Where was Remy Jail song, another lay up. Remy and Pap should have had a love joint on here. Nice hook, smooth beat. A Joe verse about his wife. Grow it up some. A Unreleased Pun Verse or Skit would have worked as well. You could keep it current and still create good product. This is water work.
NY slacking, they just dont seem to have the intellect to create anything meaningful anymore.
That Kent Jones nikka should just be a ghostwriter and stay off tracks, he sounds like he just mimicking whoever.
I know alot of nikkas will like this album and if thats where you at as far as what you like thats fine. I understand but this shyt zzzzzzzzzzzzz to me.
every verse is, okay you do 16, i do 16... not even trying to switch it up or anything.
