60604 in chicago is in the heart of the loop. how in that becoming gentrified? wasn't no nikkas living in that area to begin with.
I agree but, developers know that those people own nothing and can be moved easy, you can have a hell hole but if you have political and money going in the area, they will take it, and guys standing on corners looking hard is going to do nothing.Really not a huge shift there.
a few more white people in the neighborhood doesn't = gentrification. If you knew that area you'd know that.
I went to high school around there. It's the poorest congressional district in America.
It's heartbreaking, Uptown turning into a yuppie paradise. My folks off Jefferson gotta move now, last time I was there I seen cacs walkin they dogs by some thug nikkaz. I don't give a damn, I'ma get a spot in Southside to keep it black at least, if it gets gentrified then I'll live in a good neighborhood with sur du tables and yoga studios.![]()
Well, the main problem is DC's height limit. It wouldn't be so bad if developers could build higher than 12 stories. The southside is all that hasn't really been touched yet & I doubt it will. I lived here for 2 years and I never felt the need to go beyond L'efant more than twice.
