Rock did bring life back into the franchise. I remember Fast 4 getting heavily panned & the franchise going in a downward spiral. Rock comes in for Fast 5 & boom! It gained people’s interest again & I honestly think that’s the best one by far out of the whole franchise. shyt is a legitimately great heist movie.:yeshrug:

Wrong ! The diesel cameo in Tokyo drift revived interest and f4 made money as well. The rock helped fast 5 but the series was already revived . Tell me what hit movie the rock did that made fast 5 a hit ? It was a combination of things such as people from all the previous movies coming around , thr multicultural cast ,the heist aspect , the fact It was a good movie, Justin Lin , the rock .
It's not like the rock = a billion dollars . Should we give statham all the credit for 7 and 8s box office ?

I mean if you can provide proof that's one thing but I'm gonna call shenanigans.

Taking into account theatre takes + marketing budget that film probably lost 40-70 million in theatres.

And I don't really care about universal,I care about rock acting like a snake and his willingness to tear apart the cast for his own gain.

Literally none of this happens if he doesn't throw dirt on his cast mates in public. None of this would even be heard by anyone. When people talked about a Hobbs spin off after fast five nobody cared or acted sideways about it.

It's rocks snake actions that have the cast pissed off.

shyt is going to be hilarious when the movie doesn't make as much as the original F&F movies

None of the Rock's solo movies thus far have made anything near what F&F did, so I'll be very interested to see how his own solo F&F spinoff will perform. It's going to either verify the claims that The Rock is the reason for the Fast and Furious success or quickly put those claims to rest :russ:

False.

Interest was renewed when Dom appeared at the end of Tokyo Drift. Then in the next movie Dom, Letty, Paul and Mia came back. Tokyo Drift did like $160 million. Fast & Furious 4 did $363 million. So....interest was VERY MUCH renewed before The Rock ever thought about joining the cast. They could've put anyone in as Hobbs for Fast Five and it would've been a major success. The Brazil location. Changing from a car film to an Espionage/Ocean's 11 film. Tyrese, Luda, Han, the chick, the two Latin cats coming back. They could've cast Jason Momoa, Channing Tatum or Chris Hemsworth as "Hobbs" and nobody would've noticed the difference.

I don't know why you Rock fans keep trying to lie about this. It's so easy to disprove. What do yall get out of spreading obvious false information and easily getting checked on it.

The 215
Tyrese and the rest of the cast have every right to be pissed.

Rock has operated like a snake.

He owes his career resurgence to fast and the furious. He couldn't buy a hit before fast five unless you slapped the named Disney on it and aimed the filmed at kids.

He comes in,decides to throw dirt on the rest of the cast publicly and had the nerve to talk about professionalism while doing it

He goes behind Vin's back and uses film budget money to shoot a stinger for a spin off film of his own. Wouldn't surprise me if the real reason rock went public was because Vin nixed that scene.

The franchise was well established and everybody seemed close knit and then rock is basically causing a huge public fight for his own personal gain.

And people defend it and ignore how much of a snake he is being because it's a popularity contest.

Rock is basically acting like game in the g unit drama.

It's the Halo effect.

If you're more popular or a person that people like, no matter how foul your actions are, people will defend it. And I like the Rock but, fair is fair and real is real....I can easily see why Tyrese, Vin and the other cast members would be annoyed by his actions. Plus, people forget.....Tyrese and Vin are rich as fukk too. The Rock is not a celebrity to them. He is a coworker. They are not mesmerized by that nikka and worshipping the ground he walks on like some cac in middle america is. In their minds, they're celebrities in their own right and had a $400 million franchise before he ever walked in the door. So if they wanna call him out for doing fukk shyt, they can.

Rock on his Sean Parker in The Social Network shyt.

the low end. southside chi
the worst thing about F&F is how huge Vin Diesel thinks he is, both literally and figuratively. Dude puts one of these out, people flock, and then he starts acting like he's gonna springboard that into another Witch Hunter, or dogshyt movie he makes. Vin Diesel is not the draw of these movies, but he certainly thinks he is.
dom is the least entertaining character in the movie to me

hes way more interesting as riddikk

My thing is why does the rock get all the credit for the movies success 5 and on.None of the new additions get any credit for anything , Lin gets no credit, Michelle Rodriguez returning, walker dying and seeing whete it went ? Statham at the end of 6 killing Han definitely increased interest but nope all the rock . Him and statham had great chemistry but i don't know if I want a movie with just them two as Hobbs outside of bein a father isn't that interesting. Shaw? Yes as him and dom have that bad boys turned good thing where they can be tempted . I'll watch it cause I love the world but why do we need that now ? Wait till the franchise is over as I do care about the whole cast and I'm curious to see how it ends
