One of the most compelling aspects of the show is the incredible casting. Martin Freeman pulled off the performance of his career in the first season, and Billy Bob Thornton was absolutely diabolical as evil incarnate. In the second season, we saw stellar performances from Kirsten Dunst and new faces such as Patrick Wilson and Ted Danson. Now, for Season 3, it was recently announced that Ewan McGregor will be filling these big snow boots, assuming the roles of two twins, Emmit and Ray Stussy.
Emmit is described as the "parking lot king of Minnesota," he cherishes his big family and his business empire above everything else. His brother, on the other hand, feels like he’s been dealt a bad hand as Hawley revealed in an interview with Variety:
“Balding and pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.”

After a year-long hiatus, "Fargo" season 3 will reportedly start production in November. Latest spoilers suggest that the upcoming season will feature old and new characters. That being said, speculations hint that Ewan McGregor and Carrie c00n will lead the impressive cast next season.
'Fargo' Season 3 Starts Filming On November?
"Fargo" season 3 should start production next month if words of series creator Noah Hawley should be followed. Entertainment Weekly confirmed as early as December 2015 that "Fargo" season 3 won't return until spring of 2017. "You won't see it in 2016," Hawley admitted earlier on. "It's a winter show, and we don't have the time to film this winter." The report suggests that production for season 3 will likely begin in November of 2016, with "Fargo" season 3 storyline taking off a few years from season 1, in 2010.
More so, "Fargo" season 3 spoilers suggest that new characters will have a link with some of the old favorites. However, it was emphasized that season 1 cast may not have key roles in "Fargo" season 3. Noah Hawley said that there's a danger of bringing back past characters. He said that the artifice is too obvious; the scenarios become unrealistic. As such, reports have confirmed Ewan McGregor and Carrie c00n will lead the cast in season 3.
