Nikkas still play Trap music in their whips at least up here in B-More..

My bro was riding around playing EST Gee, I was riding around and playing some older Yo Gotti cuts, my GF was playing some Boosie songs,

Conscious music aint gonna get a woman's puzzy wet though.

If that's the case, Rawkus Records should be able to make a comeback and Talib Kweli wont have to resort to Social Media games.

:blessed::blessed:

That simpin mentality is why black music is dead to the youth.

"Gotta get the p*ssy wet" through shytty music with no disciplinary skill is how we got here.

I wish that was the case too OP.. :mjlol:

Sadly, even if these kids suddenly left rap tonight they wouldnt know what to replace it with..
They live in the here and now only, they have no concept of other forms of music past or present.

They're followers and have failed to explore other art so their music palate is already damaged..can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Like Pac said

"If u wanna make money, make music for the biishes because if the biiishies buy your music, the nikkas gonna buy it too"

Ironically enough more women are listening to what the men be listening to...

Ive seen women go bonkers playing Boosie and Plies as a kid. Webbie too

I just want some political rap to make a comeback :francis:

Too much going on for nobody in my age range to be saying something

You old nikkas lucky af. Yall had pre maga ice cube, pac, public enemy, dead prez, mos, and ras

Who dafukk we got? :dahell:

If Dead Prez was to come out nowadays, the FBI would have been on em.... people arent ready for the apathetic songs off Let's Get Free.

A Pre Maga Kanye produced It's Bigger Than Hip Hop

Most rappers nowadays just wanna party and make music for ravers.

Let's be real.

Dead Prez may be one of the only cats of the Okayplayer crowd who havent been exposed as degenerates.

Kanye went crazy to the point where he's praising WS like Nick Fuentes

Common is here putting his beige nuts(pause)in women's lips while they are sleeping

Talib is Mr. Twitter Fingers, he was brave for smashing Sara Jay though

Questlove aka Baloo is a cornball.. I didnt like how he handled DaBaby situation

Mos Def out here tricking and marrying slores and dodging CS in Africa

Jaguar Wright done went crazy

Erykah Badu out here fukking like a Jackrabbit

I definitely didnt forget The Fugees either

Listen to LASERS. He literally called out Israel in defense of Palestine.:wtf:

And that's just the most blatant example from him. But I suppose I'll agree to disagree.
Yeah I have and I wouldn't put Lupe in the political rapper category.

Conscious rap doesn't have to be overly political.

How old were Andre and Big Boi when they released ATLiens? It wasn't preachy and they weren't overstepping their bounds talking about topics they knew nothing about, but it was real as fukk, mature, insightful...

Grabbed this snippet from Wikipedia:

André 3000 explained, "It's like everybody's talking about sipping champagne and being big time, so we just took it upon ourselves to do something new ... I want my children to say, 'Daddy really said something, he wasn't just trying to brag on himself.'"

What artists of today are on that kind of time?

I barely hear trap music being played out of car windows anymore. It's the era of psychedelics and mental health now. Conscious rap about to boom again over the next two decades.

@Piff Perkins we back
@dora_da_destroyer we byke
Fred
