I still see more things I dislike about this game than what I like

I’d happily chuck this in the bushes right now for Fallout 5, I’m sure it will have its fun moments when I play with friends, but literally no one asked for a multiplayer Fallout, especially one that is damn near identical to Fallout 4 in every way, even the character creator is exactly the same.

Edit: I loved fallout 4 btw, I just don’t see how this looks any different from a game released 3 years ago apart from being able to play with friends.

I remember people calling NV a glorified expansion to fallout 3 when it first dropped, but now it's considered the best of the three and a drastic change from fallout 3. In reality it's just as similar to fallout 3 as 4 was.

Damn near every review at the time of release called it more fallout 3 or "fallout 3: new vegas"

I wish the original thread on sohh was still around so I can show how even in this community it was considered a glorified expansion pack.

hindsight is funny like that.

I don't remember that at all. It was just different and the game initially had some bugs that in some instances (like mine) would corrupt your entire save.

Go look up some reviews for the game when it first released, any review will do.

I bought the game on release and use to argue with dudes on sohh about why I felt like it was a better game than fallout 3 when most people on that site said it felt like a more buggy expansion pack to 3 with a worst setting. I remember the criticism of NV when it first dropped vividly because it seemed like I was the only one who thought it was the better game.

8 years later and everyone acts like the general consensus at the time was that it was the best of the three and a far departure from what fallout 3 was.

Fallout 5 better be the GOAT game after this cash grabby shyt.

That Skycraper or whatever better be next level dope.

This is worst than I thought it would be. What exactly am I supposed to be excited to do?

F4 on high contrast and multiplayer and random killing which I bet will be  seemless going through. No one will take advantage of the system.

I noticed that a lot around here. When something comes out it’s picked apart and everyone is making jokes on how bad it is. But 5 years or a new version comes out and now everyone props up the old version to shyt on the new one.

People just want to come off like they have the popular opinion. It’s not just this site it’s online in general. Plain and simple people love hating on shyt and love it even more when they can hate in groups

I hated fallout new Vegas when it came out. I loved fallout 4, I even went back to new Vegas and still thought it was too slow and too much walking around doing nothing

I am not looking forward to this game because I don’t want online only fallout. It seems like a cheap cash grab to capitalize on the online popularity.

I still think New vegas is the best of the bunch and it's a game I'm hoping get brought to psvr if they cant make fallout 4 happen, but my opinion of that game was not the general consensus at the time.

Fallout: New Vegas

Go through every one of these reviews, they all say the same thing, that NV is a reskinned fallout 3.

Now 8 years later people talk about how different it was or how much of a departure it was to fallout 3 and 4 when that was not the feelings at the time.

Fallout 4 is actually the biggest departure out of the three games. Alot of changes happened, some good some bad, but it's more of a change than fallout NV ever was.

The narrative that fallout 4 is a bad game needs to stop, it improved in alot of areas that affected the playability for the better even if it did have a couple missteps with the story and speech trees.

Fallout 4 essentially made the game a functional shooting game, which is good, but it removed certain RPG features which rubbed people the wrong way.

Its an upgrade from F3 through and through, but i think NV has an argument as far as being better goes, I prefer F4 myself. The hate for F4 really is a hive mentality more than anything

Facts.

It's like everything good about the game is ignored because conversations isnt as open as they were in FO3 and NV. Now it's the cool thing to do to pretend that it's a horrible game.

Same as how calling NV a reskin or glorified expansion pack was the cool thing to do 8 years ago. The gaming community is a joke and is not to be taken seriously.

So the game that introduced building your own weapons, armor, and settlements..."removed certain rpg features"...

And no those little weapon modifications you could do in new vegas isn't building your own weapons

The speech variations and simplified level up system are the rpg elements that were changed, not the guns.

In fallout 3 and NV choosing different speech options could have drastic changes to how the missions played out while in fo4 no matter what you chose the outcome usually remains the same.

As for the level up system, in the past games you would have to build your character to be good in certain aspects but in fo4 you can be good at everything if you wanted.

Fallout 4 improved the gameplay and pacing, the settlements were very intriguing to me. NV was a whole lot of walking and talking. Which is cool. But it just felt too slow and drawn out and after playing 4 the gameplay in NV is unplayable.

However a vr version would be fire.
