Great. Now I have to deal with ignorant cacs while I'm trying to explore. This game is going to be another GTA Online. I think I'm going to pass on this game.
How was the base building in 4? I never played it. Didn't hear good things.
I'm not really feeling that part. I was all the way in until they said that.
I don't think you have to play in online mode..

Yeah that’s trash.(06/11) Todd Howard Q&A with Geoff Keighley Highlights
- You can not play Fallout 76 offline
- Even when playing 'solo' you will see other players
- There is a questline
- There are no NPCs, excluding robots. Quests can still be given by terminals, holotapes etc.
- PvP is still being tweaked. They don't want it to be "griefy" but want it to have drama
- You can "decide" to do PvP; being aggressive or ignoring it
- VATS exists but real-time, not slow-mo
- Fallout 76 will "evolve over time", taking feedback into account and interaction with fans
- "We love mods", "100% committed". Modding will be present but not at launch.
- "Private world" will be possible down the line"
hmmmmm
Yeah, I was wrongNope, it’s 100% multiplayer, all he means is that you don’t have to necessarily play with other people, so regardless you’ll still have other people in your world running around
Depends how they define and implement "you can play solo".
If there are solo servers where it's only you or it's only PvE ... that'll satisfy the solo explorers who want to retain the O.G. "lone survivor" feel of Fallout and be able to walk through the game at their own pace.
But, if it's only PvP servers and going solo essentially means your going solo vs. squads and it's anything goes ... that'll probably disappoint some folks. I mean who wants to explore a vault, start reading a terminal story ... and then start getting clapped in the back by a gang of 4?
The only slightly worrying thing for people who want solo ... he said in the presentation "you can play solo, but that's obviously much tougher." Not sure if that's explaining the mechanism or just trying to hype up co-op play with your friends.
A questline but no npcs(06/11) Todd Howard Q&A with Geoff Keighley Highlights
