The issue is that they're using the same old engine they've been using now for almost a decade, so while it looks better it's not some substantial leap forward.

I think it looks substantial. It's not a "next gen leap" but it looks good. Like GTA IV to GTA V leap. Not GTA San Andreas to IV leap.

how can yall even tell the quality when all you have seen is compressed videos?
there's been some screen shots, but many of them are compressed as well. I agree the best way to judge these sort of things is actually seeing the game running natively on your own screen
and with any pre-release stuff, you never know if there will be a day-one patch, HD texture pack, or other tweaks, that might change things at release

The amount of compression in the screens I posted above isn't so much that it ruins the comparison. I can see a clear difference in the shots between FO3 and 4. Uncompressed shots will make it even more clearer.
