I feel the beef people have with this game is nitpicky. Its lighter on the RPG elements compared to NV but its still the better overall game all things considered. NV DLCs shat on this game's DLCs tho.
I'm thinking we get ES6 at E3 this year. Its been 7 years
Fallout 4 is barely an rpg. It's more of an adventure game or fps. The protagonist (male or female) has a backstory which kills any chance of replay. Especially for the female protagonist with her backstory being a lawyer with no combat experience. If Bethesda added more non lethal options and allowed the player to have a more diplomatic approach the female protagonist would have made more sense. The male and female protagonist should have had two different perk charts.
The choice of voice acting for the protagonist also hurts replaying the game.
I will say the shooting mechanics are the best in the series.
The main story was extremely bland. You can't be evil, just a sarcastic jerk. If nuka world had an effect on the main story it would have actually made sense to be evil in the DLC. Far Harbor had a better story than the main story in the base game.
Plus there are so many missed opportunities in this game. Quincy should have been a settlement but you just kill Gunners. The Gunners are just reskinned Raiders.
The settlement feature isn't bad it just lacks depth. Mods really helped make this feature a lot better.
Overall if this game didn't allow mods this game would be a 6/10 at best. With mods the game is an 8/10.
Bethesda just needs to focus on Elder Scrolls and let Obsidian handle Fallout. Or work with them because this game should have been better. Instead we got an average game at best.
