Unlike everyone else here id never played another Fallout before, so if you haven't either you'll love it, if you have tho you'd still probably like it a lot but from what I understand 3 was better. Literally everything was new for me tho..I put a ridiculous amount of time into my save file.

So I just got a ps4 recently. Bout to play fallout 4 for the first time. I see on the main menu there's a mods section.
Can anyone put mods on? I don't need to pay or anything I just need to sign up to Bethesda.net right?

What am I supposed to be doing? 
I spoke to some guy who wanted me to repair some pipes underwater or something. I got so much radiation from being in the water so long looking for them pipes I'm almost dead. Got out the water and killed that guy

I don't know what they are. I feel like I went into this game too blind. I'm so lost. Am I supposed to be killing everyone I come across? Is this a survival game?
Follow the main plot but pick up missions from randomers along the way, so you can get money for supplies and Xp to level up, use the points you get from levelling to build the kind of class that suits you, it's basically an open world/exploration action game, the main story itself is nothing mind blowing but some of the side quests you get are really good. Don't kill everyone you come across.

Smfh.. the game has a core story... It's an action adventure story just follow the main core story path by trying to find your son, you don't have to do side quests..

It makes building settlements faster.
Is the goty edition worth it? On sale for 40 but I know it'll drop again if I wait. Never finished the main game and haven't tried any dlc

its 20 to 40 more hours of gameplay so yeah its worth it...
will probably be cheaper during the winter sale around the end of november though
