Yup. The world is huge. Problem is exploring gets old fast. So many "this shyt is just here to fill space" locations. I still haven't even talked to Nick Valentine or went further South than Diamond City. Game is good but it doesn't have a killer feature that makes me want to keep playing outside of shooting things.

The Institute...

I sided with The Institute and am now tasked with killing off The Railroad.
I rode with them early on. Enjoyed Tinker Tom's character.
Now I have to kill them. :why:
Feeling like Anakin when he attacked the Jedi temple.

:wow:

I did that my first playthrough. I felt like a bad person, just murdering them like that. I went back to a previous saved game, beat it with the railroad, and finished off all the side and companion quests after that. I'm happy with that decision. I'm going into the dlc with that.

Strongly agree with the bold.
I had no idea that I'd become acclimated with them to the extent I had.
Glory had opened up. Tinker Tom was eccentric but good natured and comic relief.
Deacon had a big personality.
The bond was subtle but a testament to good writing that players actually felt guilt/conflicted.
The Institute is shady but as the director, I feel the SS will be in a position to influence their growth and mission.
Hell, as I write this, my broadcast announcing our presence and mission to the Commonwealth is airing on Diamond City Radio.
It was a tough decision either way. On the flip side, I can't wait to massacre the BoS.
They're insufferable pricks in this one.

Yeah, fukk the BoS. I was gonna do a BoS playthrough, but said fukk it. It didn't interest me at all. Maybe sometime in the future I will, but I'm done with this game until the DLC. I feel no need to get back into it and "clear" all locations. shyt bored me, like I said previously. I'm finishing up Until Dawn and moving on to Xenoblabe.

dog i dont even have a job and smoke weed and drink all day ... I played that shyt nonstop and people were already dominating that shyt at level 50-70 and shyt .... like forreal how the fukk you do every mission and quest when im over here unemployed playing 24-7 and still eating off settlements i havent even touched. People gotta be literally running through this shyt just clicking shyt to pick up and skipping convos just trying to get guns, level up too fast and grab whatever they thing the end game stuff is. I even took a break to play other games after about a month, this game is meant to just coast through ... of course its gonna be the same over and over when people keep doing the same shyt over and over for hours on end.... thats like beating rory mcilroy golf in 3 days then wondering why they played golf for that long and why the courses are just hills, bunkers and water hazards ... cause thats what you do in the game!

You can beat all the missions and side quests in like 50 hours, without skipping dialogues. That's only 10 hours a week for 5 straight weeks. The game isn't as deep as previous Bethesda games. Granted, I didn't fukk with settlements and didn't "clear" all those generic, no quest having locations, but beating the game in the 40s in a month or two is completely possible, even without playing all day every day.

I put 75 hours in, and I think found all the locations too. I even beat it institute side and railroad side. I didn't feel like I was rushing through it at all.

well think about the process of actually finding all those on your own. not only the bobbleheads, but also their location

it's rather different from going through a list, and fast-traveling around the map to specific spots. plus you end up avoiding "all those generic, no quest having locations"

it's all good, but I feel like you make the game into a very methodical checklist by playing like that

I agree with you 100% and can we stop comparing this game to 3 and new vegas, I think that new car smell of this series has just worn off.. Its technically better in everyway but people are just used to it so its not as impressive anymore, fallout 3 was one of if not the first of its kind on a console fallout 4 is like 190 shyts its like the 5th one this year alone.. These guys have probably played too many wrpgs and are burnt out on them..

and no disrespect but @Ciggavelli how did you play 75hrs of something you were so disappointed in? You have accomplished way more of this game than me and I love it and play every chance I get..
