still havnt been to diamond city yet, i feel weak, my guns are crap, i might just go for it tonight and solider it
finally got a decent gun besides my plasma rifle. been upgrading my 10mm pistol and it comes in handy for ghouls and what not. lucked up and found a fusion core in the base ment of the super market too

It looks like it's the exact same final quest

The quests to get to that point are different though, as I'm sure there are a lot of faction quests leading up to the ending.
