Yes. And it's not that much of a secret either.
One of my experiences was going on a youtuber's livestream and using the term "J.A.F.F.E. Memo"(remove the dots) in the livechat section, it is very possible the staff can stop the stream. That term is from an agenda written back in 69' about the days we are currently living in. I've personally stopped a livestream once while at work in the morning since it was a half day and another poster in the comments section informed me it happened to him too. The creator who began the stream thought it was they were having technical difficulties. The youtube mods doesn't want the masses to know what's in it, just google the name of the document and you'll see.

Youtube Shadow banning comments?

I'll admit that I've been commenting on a lot of videos. But all of it are relevant and not spam. I've been the top comment on a lot of videos and I get a lot of replies on my opinion on my comments on videos, and then one day I stopped getting replies on my comments.
I actually noticed this for a few months now and trust me this is no bug. I think I've been shadow banned because I have been commenting on videos but not getting any replies. To see if I was shadow banned I commented on a video then opened up another browser if I could see my comment if it's there. But oddly enough it wasn't there. I have read many forums about Youtube's shadow banning and I think it's been here for years. I don't know why I was shadow banned because I don't spam on videos content creators post on this platform. All I comment is relevant to the video and some jokes that is still relevant to the videos. I do not pick fights with the replies to my comments. Actually I really enjoy them. I love interacting and reading the opinions of others with my comments. This brings us closer as a family. I still don't know how long will this shadow ban last long but I hope Youtube would give me feedback on why this is happening. It's been happening for years and Youtube is a big platform and I was actually hoping this would have been solved by now. Any feedback on this post would be gladly appreciated!
I think I am being shadow banned too. I think that's because some of my comments were about Trump. Making fun and ridiculing ...
My question here is who is shadow banning me? If they don't like my comments, I think it is reasonable to ask they warn me about it. Ask me not to do it. Not banning me without warning.
I like interacting with people. That's why people comment. If the moderators, or whoever is responsible for shadow banning, don't like some comments, they need to warn them about it. They have my email ... People will stop it and act accordingly.
The other question is ... is YouTube Trump friendly? If that is the case, it is good to know and i shall act accordingly.
I too have had my comments Shadow banned! I have used another browser to see if my comments are there. THEY ARE NOT! I asked a friend to check using their account. Again my comments do not appear! Seriously how sinister, how Orwellian. Something needs to be done about this. The news needs to get out. They are secretly banning opposing voices before the next election. ALL my comments are civil, no profanity etc.
What is Instagram Shadow Ban?
Instagram Shadow-ban is a ban that renders your hashtags undiscoverable by the vibrant users. Only your followers will be able to see your feed and not the entire Instagram community. The ban is superficial and happens only when a rule has been broken. You have to fix those red flags to get your content back in good standing.
It’s easy to know if you’ve been shadow-banned.
Search your posts under the tags used and see if they appear. If they don’t show up, just know you are a victim of a shadow-ban. The second method of testing for this ban is to check with your followers if they can see your posts.
No one has a sure answer as to what leads to a shadow-ban. Nevertheless, we can all agree that infringing upon Instagrams’ user policy could get you that position. In a bid to keep their community safe and protect it from spammers and bots users, Instagram has been forced to tighten the rules a little further.
Many bloggers think that overusing a hashtag or using a banned one could trigger the attention of spam filters and algorithms. The same can happen if you post, like or comment too much. You need to engage with your followers humanly. Like and leave comments only on what pleases or attracts your attention while skipping other posts. It’s sane not to be pleased by everything.
If your actions go beyond limits like over commenting, hashtag overuse, liking mindlessly, too many follows, etc, you could come off as someone using the assistance of a software (or an app). You will be shadow-banned, and your engagement will crash.
