The thing with youtube is the ability to attract new viewers who are looking at other videos or searching for videos. You can't get that exposure (your video comes up in a search result) when you are hosting your videos on your own website.

This is why they say absolute power corrupts. There are worrisome implications to everyone herding towards the same sites..

As far as Google, they been revealed themselves with the rainbow letters. Just a few days ago, some story came out about them having issues with the term "Family" and how they deem it homophobic, offensive, wrong, etc... This erosion of the family has been written since 89' for a new world too. This is being reported (by mainly conservatives), but it's not surprising the other side won't inform the masses of issues like this that often. Now it's picking up in politics (Cali) and them banning certain gender terms. Only gonna get worse.
