This is somewhat understandable when things were conventional but not in the age of the most racist, inflammatory and downright evil regime in modern American history. Those guys are the bad guys, just look at their politics. They condone black men and women being murdered in the streets by police officers and the othering of Muslims and Hispanics. I don’t see how it is anyone but their fault for the shape of this country.

Say it louder for those in the back. People need to start fukking realizing it’s not 5 years ago. Things are vastly different now and the rules from before don’t apply anymore.

I do not care if you are a Republican for fiscal reasons or whatever the fukk (damn near all reasons suck but I digress). You’re still standing with a party who would be ok with wiping out half the population if it meant preserving their wealth and whiteness. And even the fukking poor ones want us gone.

When someone’s beliefs align with the GOP’s in any capacity, they are directly associating themselves with people who are jeopardizing my right to live. Why the fukk do I want that around me? Why should I respect any aspect of them, regardless of who the fukk they are and what they do?

And none of you obtuse nikkas quote me with the “black folk always been getting killed, white folk always been racist” shpiel trying to educate nikkas like we don’t know.

Being a fan of things as a POC (and woman) is so disheartening. Separating the art from the person isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially when it’s someone who you admire. So why can’t y’all just say that you’re struggling with that instead of sitting here and making excuses for him being a piece of shyt? I’m not excluding myself from this either. I don’t believe in separating the art from the person - if you’re a POS I will not support you. But again, it’s not easy and I catch myself making excuses. I have to check my own hypocrisy sometimes.

I hope AJ loses on Sunday. I hope his career tanks and it’s filled with nothing but injuries from now. I hope he has a bad business deal and his house gets foreclosed. I hope his wife cheats on him with a white hippie liberal from New York and his kids start calling the other guy daddy. fukk him.

To your main point though about separating the artists from the art, I believe everyone has their own personal limit with what they'll accept and what they won't and that's a personal decision and not one I feel like a community needs to be privy to. Friend of mine won't even watch a different world anymore because he can't fukk with Cosby. There are a couple podcasts I stopped listening to because one of the hosts were so adamantly right wing that I couldn't get with it anymore. I don't get why people still fukk with R Kelly's music but I can't talk because I still fukk with Michael Jackson's music. So yeah, it is a struggle.

But at the same time, like I said, based on my experiences, no one else's, I can't paint with a broad brush. And that may not work for some people but we all gotta find our way with that because there's a lot of scumbags out there. I listen to a lot of rappers who've done things I wouldn't condone and if one of my close friends did that shyt, we'd probably stop being friends.

A lot of teams have diverse fan bases and fight against racism but yet black players still experience racist taunts. But if you say so. No one is trying to "attack" you.
