This is somewhat understandable when things were conventional but not in the age of the most racist, inflammatory and downright evil regime in modern American history. Those guys are the bad guys, just look at their politics. They condone black men and women being murdered in the streets by police officers and the othering of Muslims and Hispanics. I don’t see how it is anyone but their fault for the shape of this country.
Yeah I'm not saying they're all good and noble people. But I'm also not saying they're all villains. I don't like painting with broad brushes. The Republican Party has used dog whistle politics for at least 50 years now, starting with the southern strategy and our current climate. My boy, who is a black man by the way lol, voted republican for as long as he did because he agreed with the financial policies. He agreed with less regulation, less taxes, and the free market. He felt democratic policies tightened the job market and financial sector way too much and harmed growth. I disagreed with him and we had those battles but he was still my boy. Now he's an independent because he can't associate himself with that party anymore but isn't ready to jump ship to Dems because he still believes what he believes when it comes to finances and less roadblocks in his way if he wanted to start a business, those same policies that made it easy for his grandfather to start his own business back in the day to put food on his table. Like I said, I disagreed with my boy but I respected where he was coming from and understood it 110%.
And that's with the long 50 year history. Some people truly are single issue voters and it wouldn't shock me that a rich person who has a job that labels them as an "independent contractor" with no union or health benefits, would be a republican. They want to pay as little of that back to the government as possible.
So when you're saying "They condone" yes some of them do but there are a good number of them who don't. I read their columns in papers everyday and watch them on tv every morning or every afternoon. They speak out when the party they once called home starts acting out of line and they take their lumps because of it. shyt won't get better demonizing people. It's very kumbaya but the only way shyt like our current situation gets better is through dialogue and conversation and understanding. That or euthanizing baby boomers and the generation before them, whichever comes first.
