My job was on the LSO PLATFORM.

When he makes that hard LEFT turn I would yell

"AIRCRAFT BREAKING"..

then as it's perpendicular to the ship

"Aircraft downwind "..

Then I'd have to identify if it were a rhino(super hornet) or a hornet(two seater).

If I fukked up and got the aircraft wrong then the arresting gear might snap due to weight difference.
I thought 2 seaters didn’t go on carriers. Or maybe it just applied to Marines squadrons. I worked on hornets and I know for sure none of our 2 seater squadrons did cruises.

F-22 Raptor binge lately.
Air show in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend I think:

I don't care what the new generation of fighters will be able to do, Raptor may be the cleanest.

That show of force was impressive. Damn.

One dude who was a maintainer was working on the arresting gear, and ended up almost losing his hand on one deployment. It is cool to watch them land in person, but the Flight Deck has to be the scariest place to work. End up losing your life from not paying attention.

. :damn:
