because we don't have the capacity to travel that far at this moment, and by the looks of it it wont be around for a while
and if they can get to us, it means their technology is far superior, THUS seen as more smart because they have a wider range of knowledge in this particular field

We are like finding a needle in 10000 haystacks. The universe is unimaginably immense. Theres no doubt there are aliens out there and very likely a few space faring races, probably even in this galaxy. But theres no guarantee theyd find us even if they were looking. If they did find us they would need to be just ahead of us technology wise to even care. Imagine when we perfect interstellar flight. You really gonna stop on every planet that has some life on it? Youd probably look for your intelligence equal to make contact with. We aint gonna stop on a planet of chimpanzees and ask them to take us to their leader. That being said....i still believe we'll run into or discover "something" sooner rather than later 
What I also dont get is why people feel "aliens", if they exist, have to look like us, or speak our language.
Hell, you cant even go on the other side of this earth and communicate with other humans. The hell makes me ppl think someone from another WORLD would be able to understand what we're saying? They might not even have a mouth to communicate with. They may not walk on all fours....they may not "walk" at all.

I think its possible aliens have visited us but not likely, due to many things people have already mentioned in this thread. Difficulty of traveling millions of light years, how many other planets there are (probably many millions/billions with life on them) and that there is no physical evidence to be presented.
Things that make me wonder though are testimony of military officials/pilots claiming to see UFOs. But what exactly are the UFOs? could be man made?
To sum up my thoughts: I don't know if they've visited here, but I know that the universe is probably teeming with life simply due to its immense size and density.

I highly doubt aliens have visited this earth and even they have I doubted they survived for long just because of the disease factor...90% of the indiginous Amazonian people got wiped out by the cold when the Europeans touched down there for the first time cos they couldn't handle the foreign virus... Do you know the type of technology the aliens would have to have just to get from one planet to the next and back home. Anything that advanced has to be able to overpower us in some way. I'd also imagine that aliens would do their homework before just showing up. I think UFOs are military aircrafts that exist so the government can one day attempt a fake alien invasion and really turn us into slaves. No more illusions of what we are to them at that point.
